Many of you find yourselves here because of a feeling of hopelessness over the results of the 2024 Presidential Election. It is not due to a loss by your chosen political party, but it is the realization that the general public chose to relinquish its own freedom to a person who seeks power for personal gain. A person that relates to no one, cares for no one, and will willingly sacrifice the life and livelihoods of the average American for his own gain. The man is a walking contradiction. He speaks of making America Great Again, while casting aside the very foundation that it made it great to begin with. He touts Christian, Conservative values while living a heretical lifestyle. He even created a platform called Truth Social to disperse lies. Despite all of this, he is now somehow once again in the highest political appointment in the United States.
Most of us are in shock, because everything we know to be true has been undone. The "Land of the Free and Home of the Brave" is now the "Land of the Subjugated and Home of the Brainwashed". The safeguards we thought were in place to protect our freedoms have been cast aside. Nothing is sacred and nothing is off limits. We did not expect that in our lifetimes we would be placed in a position similar to those during World War II. The only problem is that this time the White Christian Nationalism we must stand against is our own. The country considering placing immigrants and those deemed undesirable into concentration camps is the United States of America. The nation suggesting autocracy and the taking of political prisoners is comprised of our neighbors. Talk of party loyalty being related to political status and employment is straight out of a George Orwell novel except it is happening in real time. We are discouraged because our eyes are open and we can see what is happening around us and feel that we are alone, because no one else will acknowledge it.
However, I am here to tell you that you are not alone. It may feel as if you are on an island surrounded by shark infested waters at times, but you are not the only person who feels this way. Even though it feels like hope is lost and no one is willing to take a stand you are wrong. Kamala Harris might have lost the Presidential election, but the values for which she stands are not lost. The powerful words used in her concession speech fueled a fire within us to stand against the evils of this world and we hope you will join us when you hear them.
"At the same time, in our nation, we owe loyalty not to a president or a party, but to the Constitution of the United States, and loyalty to our conscience and to our God. My allegiance to all three is why I am here to say, while I concede this election, I do not concede the fight that fueled this campaign— the fight for freedom, for opportunity, for fairness, and the dignity of all people. A fight for the ideals at the heart of our nation, the ideals that reflect America at our best. That is a fight I will never give up." - Vice President Kamala Harris
We created the Anti-47 Club not out of hatred for a single man, but as a defiance against the policies and rhetoric he used to poison this nation against one another. We are called Anti-47, because we are concerned he will attempt to make it 48 and 49 as well. He stands against everything this nation is meant to be and for that we stand against his brand of politics. We respect the office of the President of The United States of America no matter their political affiliation. However, we do not respect civil rights violations, fascism, or political violence. We will not concede our free nation to become a dictatorship without a fight. However, we do not use hate and violence in our fight. We use compassion and civil actions. We will not lie or use fear to persuade, but will tell the truth and live virtuous lives as an example to be followed. We will respect all others and not harbor ill-will towards our neighbors.
It is understandable to want to lay down and give up. It is easier to accept what is happening and quietly fade into the background to avoid drawing attention to yourself. However, it is up to us to make the harder choice to do what is right. We consider the men and women that served our country during World War II the "Greatest Generation". They were raised during the Great Depression and were the primary generation to serve during World War II. They spent their youth in hardship and turmoil and still took it upon themselves to do the right thing in the face of all adversities surrounding them. It is time that we take up the mantle of responsibility to become the next Great Generation so that our children will not be forced to do so themselves. Join The Club and know that you are not alone in the fight to come.
